Forklift Moves SUV from No-Parking Zone in Birmingham

A forklift was seen picking up and moving an SUV from a no-parking zone in Sparkbrook, Birmingham. The driver moved the vehicle to allow a lorry to enter a delivery area.

The Volkswagen Tiguan was blocking the entrance of G A Freight Limited. Ahmed Hussain, 28, witnessed the event while on a job nearby. He found the scene amusing as the forklift driver placed the car further down the street.

The lorry was then able to turn into the yard to drop off its deliveries. The entire maneuver took less than a minute, with locals watching in surprise.

Witness Account

Ahmed Hussain, from Haven Autocare in Digbeth, Birmingham, described the situation. He noted, “The owner wasn’t back for a while. It wasn’t blocking my business, but it was parked in a no-parking area.”

He added, “The forklift was from the business expecting a delivery from the lorry. The car was parked there when I arrived, so it had been there since early morning.”

According to Ahmed, the truck was delivering food or clothing items to local shops.

Previous Incidents Involving Forklifts

This is not the first time a forklift driver has moved a vehicle. In 2022, a farmer was cleared after using a forklift to flip a car off his land. He argued he was “defending” his property.

Robert Hooper, 57, was seen using a forklift to launch a Vauxhall Corsa at his farm in Newbiggin-in-Teesdale, County Durham. A passenger, Charlie Burns, 21, was knocked to the ground during the incident.

Hooper was cleared of dangerous driving and criminal damage.

Additionally, there was a report last year of an allegedly drunk forklift driver causing damage to multiple cars. Footage showed the driver flipping a vehicle upside down while passengers tried to escape.
