CCTV footage has been released by police as they search for a man following an alleged sexual assault on a train.

According to British Transport Police, a man sat next to a passenger and sexually assaulted her.

The victim moved seats twice to escape him, but he followed her both times.

This incident occurred on the District line, heading towards Cannon Street Tube station in London on December 15, just before 8 PM.

Police made an appeal, stating: “Do you recognise this man?”

They added, “Officers investigating a sexual assault on a District Line train towards Cannon Street Underground station have released this image in connection.”

They noted, “Just before 8 PM on Monday, December 15, a man sat next to and sexually assaulted a woman.”

“When she twice moved seats to get away from him, he followed her both times before sitting next to her once more.”

Officers believe the man in the image may have information that could assist their investigation.
