Two teenagers have died, and a third has been injured after a crash on a remote country lane.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a car leaving the road in Iwade, Kent, at around 8:30 PM on Saturday.
Two occupants of the blue Ford Fiesta, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third occupant, a 16-year-old girl, was taken to a local hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
Police, paramedics, and fire crews worked at the scene, closing the road in both directions.
Flowers have been left at the roadside by passers-by.
The quiet country lane was closed while an investigation took place following the incident on Old Ferry Road.
A spokesperson for the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) said, “Multiple crews, critical care paramedics, and The Air Ambulance Charity, Kent Surrey Sussex attended the scene. However, sadly two occupants of the vehicle were later confirmed deceased, with a third occupant being taken to a local hospital for further medical treatment.”
Detectives from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time or who has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to contact Kent Police.
